WHO WE ARE We are a group of students ranging from 7th-12th grade. We exist to help students grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ by teaching them how to live out their faith everyday and helping them to better understand their faith by allowing them to make it their own.
WEEKLY ACTIVITIES ESCAPE Escape meets every Wednesday night from 6:30-8:30 PM in the Blue House. Escape is designed to be a place for our students to escape from their everyday worries. It is a nice break from school and homework for those that attend. During each meeting there is a game time, as well as a time for worship and a lesson. After most lessons students then break into breakout groups (divided up by age and gender) to discuss the topic that night in further detail. During the summer months Escape schedule may change.
The Blue House is our youth center and is located across the parking lot from the church. A few years ago the church realized that there was no room in the
church for the youth to call their own and the Blue House became the answer to that problem. All of our weekly youth meetings are held in the Blue House.
Sunday School Sunday School meets every Sunday morning from 9:30-10:30 AM in the Blue House. (June - August Sunday School is at 10:15am.) Sunday School is intended to be something of a discipling program for our teens. It helps them to grow in their faith by taking a look at practical issues facing the today as well as holding on to biblical truths. |
SPECIAL EVENTS Youth Sunday: Every May our students have the opportunity to plan a Sunday morning service for our congregation. This is a chance for them to use their tallents and abilities, both up front and behind the scenes for God. During the service the students are able to show the congregation about the events that have taken place in the past year and we also take that time to recognize any High School or College Seniors that will be getting ready to graduate.
Youth Sunday 2008 : Youth Worship Band Summer Mission Trip: Every summer the youth group has a mission trip available to all High School students. We opperate on a 3 year cycle (International, National, and Local).
Boston Missions Trip 2008 Barn Blast: Every October we do a Barn Blast. This is always a fun evening for students to come and enjoy a lot of games, a lot of food, and there is always a challenging lesson involved as well.
Barn Blast 2008 Winter Retreat: Every February we go on a winter retreat. The retreat is a good opportunity for students to invite their non-Christian and Christian friends. Every year the students are challenged to evaluate where they are in their walk with Christ. This can be a life changing experience for students who get involved.
Impact / Alive Impact: and Alive are both conferences hosted in Ocean City, MD's Convention Center and is put on by Metro-Maryland Youth For Christ. Impact is held in March and is for our High School students. Alive is held in November and is for our Jr. High students. Both conventions host a number of speakers and breakout group topics. There is also a concert put on by a major band in the Christian market every year. If you attend one of our trips you will need to fill out a medical form click here to download a copy for yourself.
