Escape Youth Ministries is all about tuning into God’s heartbeat for this generation by exposing young people to Jesus Christ, encouraging believers in the faith, and equipping servants for ministry.

WHO WE ARE…
A community of young people from 7th to 12th grade who enjoy being with others.  Relationships with our peers are really important to us.  However, we strive to nurture the ultimate relationship one can have, that is a relationship with God.  It is through knowing God that we begin to know who we were created to be.  We desire to know God’s love so we can love others through personal relationships, encouraging words, and acts of service.

WHAT WE DO…

Sunday Nights

Junior and Senior high small groups meet the 1st and 3rd Sunday nights of the month.  These groups offer a time of learning, sharing, worshipping, serving, and just having fun with each other.

Escape

Escape is a large group setting where 7th – 12th grade are together from 6:30pm – 8:30pm for fun activities, a lesson, worship, and of course a snack.  It's a great chance for friends to come and hang out and enjoy a unique experience with God and each other. Escape meets on the 2nd and 4th Sunday’s of the month. Escape Meetings are heald at the Blue House Youth Center. Beginning in September 2008 Escape will be held on a weekly basis still on Sunday Nights.

Sunday Morning Classes
Small groups meet during the Sunday School hour (9:30am – 10:30am) at the Blue House Youth Center.  There are currently Sr. High and Jr. High classes.  Each class is challenged by Bible-based material that is relevant to their age level. Following the Sunday School hour most of the youth attend our 10:45am Worship Service together.

Summer Program
Our summer program varies from the regular schedule.  Please refer to the church newsletter or contact the church office for a list of current youth activities.

Special Events
A number of special events are held throughout the year. Some are designed for those who are already part of our group, while others are designed for inviting and meeting new people.

Snow Burn

In February the Sr. and Jr. High go away on a weekend retreat with other area BIC youth. Our students are challenged to grow deeper in their walk with God or have the chance to get to know God for the first time. There is also a ton of fun activities going on most of the day Saturday including sports, video games, and hang out time.

Impact/Alive

Impact and Alive hosted by Youth for Christ are held in Ocean City, MD in the Convention Center. Impact (held in March) is for our Sr. High Students and Alive (held in November) is for our Jr. High Students. This is a great chance for our students to learn about their faith through large seminar meetings and smaller breakout sessions.

Summer Missions

This summer we had the chance to go to Nicaragua. We had the chance to meet and share life with some great people and did some painting for a school. This was a growing experience for all who went as it caused them all to get out of their comfort zones and learn how to adapt to the culture and the people.

Summer Music Festival

Our students love music and have the opportunity to go to Creation and/or Purple Door every summer. Both are Christian Music Festivles held every summer in Central, PA. Creation is a week long event and Purple Door is a weekend event.

Youth Sunday

We generally have Youth Sunday planning meetings on Monday nights from 6:30-8:30 in April & May.  All youth are welcome to come and help plan for youth Sunday, which is the third Sunday in May.  Meet in the sanctuary.

Youth Fundraisers

Various Youth Fundraisers are scheduled during the year to help provide youth with the finances to attend the numerous youth activities.
