Approaching the Battle
Preparation has begun
Put into practice what we already believe
“Be strong in the Lord” (v.10)
Recognize our vulnerability
In Jesus’ name there is power
Remember to stand firm (James 4:7)
Submission to God plants our feet
Satan will flee
Stand together
The Armor of God
God supplies the armor
It fits
Belt of Truth (v.14)
Believe in the Truth
Jesus is the truth (John 14:16)
Truth about believers
Blessings in the heavenly realms (Eph. 1:3)
With Christ (Eph. 2:6)
Given grace (Eph. 2:5 – 7)
Live the truth
Integrity and sincerity in the home
Speak the truth
Sticky situations are often the result of not speaking the truth
Create an environment of truth
Gives freedom
A place of security and safety
Hold on to the truth and we will not be overcome by the darkness of Satan’s lies
Breastplate of Righteousness
Righteousness is given (Isaiah 59:17)
A call to holiness (1 Peter 5:14 – 16)
Obedience speaks to our loyalty and faithfulness to God
High standard of faithfulness
Righteousness is not an option
The Gospel of Peace (v.15)
Our families can be peacemakers (Matthew 5:9)
Peace in the family (Romans 12:18)
Presence of what is good
The Shield of Faith(vs. 16)
Dependence on God brings protection
Two ways this applies to the family
The arrows often come from within the family
There is strength in the family locking their shields together
The Helmet of Salvation (v.17)
Salvation changes everything
A new perspective on life
Deliverance for a life time
Salvation brings hope for our families
God can redeem families
The Sword of the Spirit (v.17)
Know its power and how to use it
Protects in times of temptation (Matthew 4:1-11)
Live by it (Psalm 119:11)
Cover each other with prayer (v.18)
It covers the whole armor and all the cracks
No one is exempt from spiritual warfare!
Prayer cannot be rejected
Our Families Can Survive Satan’s Attacks God’s armor is more than sufficient! Prepare for battle today!

Read Ephesians 6:10 – 18. What piece of the armor seems to be the weakest for you? Ask for God’s help in that area.
Memorize the pieces of the armor and commit to putting on the armor of God. Everyday this week put on the armor of God and pray for your family and others to be protected from Satan’s attacks.
