"No Sin?"

Sermon Outline

No Sin?
Isaiah 53:4 - 6

Innocent

  1. Options
    • Good man
    • Right with God
    • Not deserving death
    • Biblical Truth
    • Completely without sin!

Isaiah 53: 4 – 6 (NLT)
      4 Yet it was our weaknesses he carried;
it was our sorrows that weighed him down.
And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God,
a punishment for his own sins!
5 But he was pierced for our rebellion,
      crushed for our sins.
He was beaten so we could be whole.
He was whipped so we could be healed.
6 All of us, like sheep, have strayed away.
We have left God’s paths to follow our own.
Yet the Lord laid on him
      the sins of us all.

Can anyone really be without sin?

  1. Everyone sins (Romans 3:23)
  2. Good enough
    • Less sin
    • More good deeds
    • We treat it as a competition
  3. Sin is an impossible barrier (Romans 6:23)

God’s Love Changed Everything

  1. Jesus was sent into this world with no sin

               (John 1:14)

  1. He lived in this world with no sin
    1. Overcame temptation
      • In the  desert (Luke 4:1-13)
      • In the Garden of Gethsamane (Matthew 26:36-46)
  2. Obedient in death (Romans 5:19))

Made Right With God

  1. The Great Exchange
    • His righteousness of our sins (2 Cor. 5:21)
    • It should have been you and me on the cross!
    • There was no other reason for Jesus Christ to be crucified!

No Sin?

What would the jury say about you and me?
