  • Choosing Jesus Christ over family
  • Doing what (we think) is best for our children
  • Respect for parents

Surrender

  • Carrying our cross
  • An act of submission
  • How do we know that we have surrendered to God?
  • Beware of focusing on life’s plans
  • Focus on what we know God wants
  • How are we doing in the little things?
  • Do we approach life with a Christ-like attitude?

 

  • Remember Christ is not asking us to do something He was unwilling to do.

A Disciple is Prepared to Pay the Price

  • A choice whether or not to begin
  • Naivety does not equal trust and faith
  • Our we willing to meet the demands?
  • Be prepared for anything


To be a disciple when we leave today…

  • Love God more than _________
  • Surrender where we know surrendering is called for
  • In attitude
  • In doing right instead of wrong
  • Is there any price we are not willing to pay for Jesus?
  • I will follow God as long as I don’t have to give up this relationship
  • I will follow God as long as I don’t have to change my lifestyle
