Pastor Lawton became the senior pastor in November of 2006 after serving for two and a half years on staff.  Before coming to New Guilford he served in pastoral ministry for ten years in other Brethren in Christ churches.

He and his wife Mary have been married since January 3, 2004. Their family consists of their son, and a Siamese cat named Clem.

Lawton’s passion is to be part of a church that is in love with God and shares that love with others inside and outside of the church.  He values committed God-centered relationships, teamwork, and living by faith.

Director Of Youth Ministries

Andy McLucas

Andy Joined our staff in February of 2008. He is a graduate of Huntington University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Youth Ministry. He has been invlovled in youth ministry since 2003, mostly on a volunteer basis and spent 7 months (May -Dec.06) working on an internship with the youth group at Crossroads Evangelical Church in Wauseon, OH.

Andy has two main Philosophies of ministry. The first is to take people from where they are to where God wants them to be. This can take many froms from discipling students to evangelizing to students who have not yet come to Christ. His second philosophy is to equip students to live in the world without being of the world. Teens live in a world of temptations and he wants them to live in it to make a positive impact for christ.

One of Andy's biggest passions in life is music. He has been playing the drums since 1997 and loves to do so. He also plays the drums in a bandwhere he gets to use music to deliver a positive message to those who listen.

    Director of Worship
Kristen Stayman

“Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching” Hebrews 10:25

At a very young age, I felt the Lord’s calling on my life to enter into some sort of music ministry. Growing up I was very involved in my home church: planning events, teaching and mentoring the youth, as well as leading, playing and singing on multiple worship teams. But after much prayer, searching, and faith, in January 2006 I left my home church of 21 years to start working part-time as the Director of Worship here at New Guilford. Entering into ministry at New Guilford has been one of the most rewarding and character-developing things that I have ever experienced. What a blessing it has been thus far!

It is my heart’s cry and desire to enter into His presence more everyday through worship; and I pray that the Lord would continue to use me as His servant to do His will, wherever He leads.

Following His Lead Totally Surrendered

    Children's Ministry Coordinator
Connie Marshall

Hi, my name is Connie Marshall and I am the Children's Ministry Coordinator here, which encompasses children newborn to 5th grade.  My husband, Joseph, and I started attending this church in 1994 for our children. We wanted them to learn about God and Jesus at an early age, something we were unable to do.  We were baptized and joined the church here on Palm Sunday of 1995.

Children have a special place in my heart and the Director of Christian Education saw that, and in August of 2003 we talked and I was asked to start working in the Children's Ministry Department in September of 2003.

As the Bible passage in Matthew says, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."  That is my prayer here - that the children come to know Jesus and to get to know Him on their level.  Children are a blessing and gift from God, and I want the children who come here to know that they are special and loved.

Office Manager
Shelly Barvinchack

Hello! Thanks for checking out our website!

I’d like to take this moment to share with you a little about myself. Before I came to New Guilford, I had returned home to Greencastle, PA after serving in Boston, MA for 7 years. In Boston, I served as the Operations Coordinator for Starlight Ministries, a non-denominational homeless outreach, and I also served as an administrative assistant at Parkside Christian Academy. While in Boston, God showed me the importance of serving Him whole heartedly, surrendering daily to Christ and to strive to be more like Him every day. Since I’ve returned from Boston, I have also had the opportunity to serve with Eastern Mennonite Missions YES program in Bolivia, where I served with Stansberry Children’s Home and Daycare. I have always had a heart for missions, especially to serve the poor and needy.

At this time in my life I am not walking up and down streets looking for homeless people, nor am I loving a child who is dirty and malnourished but I am serving the people and community of New Guilford and I feel blessed to be here.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men” Col 2:23
